“The Jambey Lhakhang festival or Drup, is held in Bumthang each year in autumn and carries on for five days. The festival begins in the evening with the dance of the Black Hats. Fires are lit to exorcise evil and, in the darkness, the fearsome visage of masked dances is accentuated in the flickering light of fires and flares. One of the main highlight is the 'Mewang" - the fire ceremony and the " Tercham" - a religious dance."
