Trekking
in Bhutan is unlike anywhere else in the Himalayas. It offers
not only spectacular scenery but also a chance to see the people
in their villages carrying out ancient skills and crafts. Treks
vary from short three-day walks across relatively low altitudes
to the three-week snowman trek that covers 356 kms. and climbs
three of the Kingdom’s highest passes.
Bhutan Eco-Expedition allows you to explore Bhutan’s
incredible beauty, clean air, unspoiled and un-crowded trails
that offer trekker an exhilarating and memorable experience.
You walk with a daypack, typically containing your camera, water
bottle and small personal items. Pack animals will transport the
rest of the equipment, along with camping gear and food.
Excellent and nutritious meals are prepared by our experienced
cooks and are served in our enclosed dining tent with tables and
campstools. Our private guides lead the way, explaining the sites
and traditions and natural history of the area. Local staff handles
all the camp chores.
It is important to be physically fit enough to successfully complete
and enjoy the treks. You walk each day for an extended period.
Good cardiovascular conditioning is a vital part of having an
enjoyable trek.
We offer a variety of treks to suit every level of fitness and
age. The descriptions provided here are brief. Please write for
detailed information on the treks that interest you. |
